Paula Patton has a distinguished career as an actress, producer and director. She is most well-known for her starring role as a character in Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol. As a young girl she was raised in a Los Angeles middle-class household. Her mother was a film fan and encouraged her to love movies as a young person. Paula took part in the co-curricular classes at her school and enjoyed drama. She played with her classmates and was a part of the school productions. Hamilton Magnet Arts High School produced many plays and the actor decided that acting was her chosen career. She attended an acting program at the University of Southern California for a Summer Program and loved the experience. She was awarded an assignment by PBS to produce documentaries over 3 months. After completing the project, she started becoming an assistant to the production team for television documentaries. She then moved to produce documentaries. Though she loved her job but she always dreamed of being an actor. Her career began in acting with a role as Will Smith's co-star for the love story Hitch. Since then, she has been in numerous films as well as TV shows.
