 Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. She was raised in Barcelona and has been described as an "atypical popstar" due to her many musical styles. [9] She was captivated by Spanish folk music at the age of 13 years old. She studied musicology at the Catalonia College of Music and also performed at weddings. The project reinvented flamenco and mingled it with pop and hip-hop music. The songs "Malamente", and "Pienso En Tu Mira" were popular among the Spanish public and garnered the acclaim of all critics. [11] Recipient of the Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year, and a place in Rolling Stone's list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, El Mal Querer started the ascendance of Rosalia into the world music scene. Rosalia has explored urbano music with her 2019 releases "Con Altura" and "Yo Ti Tu x Mi", had global success. Her third album, Motomami (2022) she gave reggaeton an innovative approach, deviating slightly from the original flamenco sound. The album gained the attention of the world with its two singles "La Fama" and "Saoko" and was subsequently the best reviewed album of the year on Metacritic. Rosalia has scored ten number one songs in the course of her career in her country of birth. It's the highest number for an artist hailing from the area. Two Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards (including two Album of the year awards) as well as four MTV Video Music Awards and three UK Music Video Awards have been awarded to Rosalia. She also was awarded two Premio Ruido Awards. Billboard presented her with the Rising Star Award, in 2019 for "changing the sound today's mainstream music with her distinctive flamenco-infused pop". 18 years ago, she also became the first Spanish-singing group to be nominated as the Best New Artist at the Grammys.



 Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. Born in a family with no artistic heritage She is the youngest daughter of Pilar Tobella, a businesswoman who has a family-owned business that specializes in metalwork. Jose Manuel Vila was her father. He was born in Cudillero (Asturias). They split in 2019. The actress has an older sister, Pilar "Pili" Vila (born 1989), who works with Rosalia as her stylist and creative director. Rosalia began to be interested in performing arts in her early years in particular after she was introduced to the discography of Camaron de la Isla. In the Taller de Musics, she started her musical training. She took part in a 6-year program in the academy. She began in the Raval school, but later moved to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. The singer also performed on her own as a singer for weddings, bars for music and other functions. She was offered "a less than 80 euros or as a payment for dinner". The time was also a time when, Rosalia met many underground Spanish artists that were to succeed, such as La Zowi, Yung Beef, Kaydy Cain, Hinds and Maria Escarmiento.
